This thing only does one thing but it does it really well. It seems like such a small thing to boil some water, but using this just makes life a little sweeter. I drink quit a bit of coffee from a french press and my wife drinks a lot of tea. We compromised on the temperature and went with the 195 degree F. To just walk into the kitchen and make tea or coffee with the press of a button just feels nice and it is unbelievably efficient. I have no way to prove it but I bet this is more efficient than boiling water and a gas stovetop, with the amount of heat that escapes around the sides of the tea kettle.
The only thing I would like to see is a time on function, so I could fill it at night and have it kick on just before the alarm goes off.
